Message	My Z had the exact same sound 2 weeks ago. I started it for the 1st time in about 5 months. Scared me, it was the loudest I’ve ever heard that sound. I let it idle in the garage for about 15 minutes, the tick disappeared. I suspect a not perfect lifter had drained its oil. I’ve had this car since 1990, every time I let it set for a long period I get that noise. (It was the loudest I've ever heard 2 weeks ago, but has not returned). I promised myself to never let the car sit for more than 2 weeks without running the motor till fully warmed up. I'm confident I won't hear that sound again. I think its very bad to let a Z32 set that long without running it occasionally.
